Yves Godbout has been an extreme metal vocalist for more than a decade now. He developed his craft through various projects like Within Anguish and more recently with the Growlers Choir. He also shared his voice for collaborations with projects such as Lacrimae Mortalium, Barrdo et Disorientation. His passion for guttural and dissonant vocals was brought to him during his youth through, of course, music, but also role playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, Fantasy Hero and World Of Darkness. Add to this some video games including Diablo, Mass Effect, Assassin’s Creed, StarCraft, Eternal Darkness, etc. Accumulating more than 20 years of experience in diverse RPGs and 15 years in the world of LARPing, Yves is a walking encyclopedia of anything that touches gaming, mythologies and anything related to fantasy subjects. In addition to music, Yves is pursuing his artistic path through writings, photography and creation of original material for RPGs. The culmination of some of these projects, brought him to publish a photo book on the thematic of….Screaming! Laurent Bellemare is a death metal singer fascinated with the bizarre and unexpected. Since his humble beginnings in 2008, he has expanded his vocal range by incorporating all kinds of extended techniques into his various musical ventures. Notably, his interest in Central Asian throat singing led him to study in Taiwan and Mongolia with musicians Uuganbayar Altanbulag and Munkhbat Myagmarjav. Laurent speaks fluent French, English and Indonesian. As an extreme metal frontman, Laurent has recorded many albums with a plethora of bands (Sutrah, Serocs, Basalte, Tribunal, etc.) and performed at prestigious international events such as Festival Kesenian Yogyakarta (Indonesia, 2017), Killtown Deathfest (Denmark, 2019) and Dark Mofo (Australia, 2022). In the spring of 2022, Laurent performed for television show America’s Got Talent with Growlers Choir, a unique ensemble comprised only of metal singers. He occasionally gives growling lessons and workshops to those willing to learn the craft. Aside from being a vocalist, Laurent is also a drummer and percussionist notably involved with Balinese gamelan music. He recently completed a master’s degree in musicology with a focus on the development of Indonesian traditional music in Canada.
