Julien Truchan

Born on October 27 in 1979, he works as a nurse in a psychiatric hospital since 2002. He started his band Benighted in 1998 and they released 9 studio LP albums, 1 EP and 1 Live album + DVD on the label Season of Mist. They play an average of 40 shows per year, toured in Europe, America, Russia, Asia… Julien uses music a lot in his job as it has amazing positive effects on people suffering with mental illness. The same way, he uses his professional experience to write lyrics in Benighted and talks about the reality of the symptoms of the patients. In November 2020 he started a new Black Metal project with ex-Benighted members, they called it Néfastes and released their 1st album on Source Atone Records. The particularity of Julien's vocals are how versatile they are and how he can instantly switch from one kind of voice to another in the songs.
